energy sourcing and (utility) production, consumer goods, food production, apparel, and numerous other market segments.  Oh, and get ready for Space Tourism – the first Space Hotel goes into commission in 2012, and the first suborbital tourist flights will blast off in 2010.  Here again, we’re looking at a multi-trillion$ industry. And all of these exploding fields – paradigms – will be creating millions of new jobs spanning dozens (or hundreds) of new career classifications.

In other words… these colliding “megatrends” simply mean that:

  • There will be a lot more industries, careers, and potential partners to do business with;

  • Reaching them and transacting with them will be easier than ever; and

  • The leaders that drive these exchanges in the New World Economy will enjoy fabulously fun, passionate and profitable careers (and even greater capacity to serve others, if they choose)

These changes/opportunities are inexorable, are upon us now, and will be even more prevalent in coming years.  Recessions come and go.  Wars come and go.  Political alliances come and go.  Still, the world economic community is so inextricably intertwined, that any attempts at protectionism or isolationism from world commerce would likely be short-lived.  Why?  Because (just like Friedman’s McDonalds example) there’s too much to be gained through “co-opetition” with our global partners. How about Starbucks supporting community growth in 23 countries (while being the most admired company in America to work for (so say the employees)?  Or Patagonia’s (the outdoor company) commitment to the environment?  Or Google’s mission of “do no harm?”  Conscientious Capitalism…

Front and center in the Green Wave, we now find Social Responsibility Managers filling the ranks of Fortune 1000, Government and non-profit organizations.  Why?  It’s not just good PR, it’s good business….  In other words, there is a proven discernible impact that these folks have
