MAX
A Division of The Gulliver Project

MAX introduces participants to the challenges and opportunities of global business, emerging careers and new technologies.  MAX is designed to expose these future leaders to resources, tools and practices that 1) foster awareness, knowledge and connection to an increasingly-interconnected world; and 2) enable better personal and organizational decisions resulting in beneficial business relationships and peaceful, productive exchanges with global citizens.

MAX accomplishes this by:

  • Demonstrating how globalization, multiculturalism and  communication-enhancing technologies (“the death of distance”) – have become the dominant business, political and social models of our time; and how they have brought the world “over there” (to) “over here”
  • Instilling a recognition that our future success – as employees, citizens, companies, and other organizations – hinges on our ability to constructively harness these “globalizing” forces for maximum advantage
  • Introducing students and career changers to industries and career fields – already existing, yet receiving little attention so far in the classroom or career center – that are expected to have phenomenal growth prospects over the next few decades.
  • Making the strategies, tactics and tools of global business and marketing (international as well as “local”) real, accessible and interesting;
  • Providing a framework for cross-cultural success (in business or personal dealings) by demonstrating how to effectively communicate with people that think, plan, organize, task, prioritize and even “value” differently than us
  • Discussing completely new ways of “doing business” that combine the finest qualities of capitalism, philanthropy, diversity, and ecological stewardship to create proven and sustainable results throughout the world.
  • Utilizing an objective approach that relies upon “pro and con” discussion, open-ended RAFT-based exercises, and wherever possible, the Socratic method and inductive reasoning.
