About the Lesson Modules  Running 15-50 minutes, these theme-based slideshows are an immersion into not only global business, but global thinking. This requires expanding one’s view of who our customers, vendors, employees and other “stakeholders” are; what tools and processes we can use to reach and interact with them; and how to take advantage of wider business, social and personal opportunities while protecting ourselves from (or mitigating) the frequent challenges. MAX’s lesson modules are an immersion into not only global business, but global thinking.  This requires expanding one’s view of who our customers, vendors, employees and other “stakeholders” are; what tools and processes we can use to reach and interact with them; and how to take advantage of wider business, social and personal opportunities while protecting ourselves from (or mitigating) the frequent downsides.  For example, your class can leverage MAX to discover (how to):

  • Perfect Your ‘Five P’s’ for New Markets – How do you determine appropriate product, price, packaging, promotion and “place” combinations to satisfy international consumers (or partners)?

  • Create Cross-Cultural Business Success – How do you master the challenges of the “global office” – and create productive relationships with multinational teammates who organize, communicate, plan, task, prioritize, and “value” differently than you?

  • The ‘Coolest’ New Careers; The Hottest New Industries – how are the “death of distance,” shifting societal values and exploding new industries (such as the Green movement, Nanotechnology, the Human Genome Project, the Internet, etc.) creating millions of lucrative new jobs?

  • “Smart” branding and cutting-edge marketing technologies – What are the tools and techniques you can use to “maximize your ROI and minimize your TMI”?

  • What our global friends – and competitors – are up to – How are dozens of countries around the world positioning themselves for leadership roles in exploding new (and traditional) industries?

  • What is globalization – its pros and cons, with regards to businesses…countries…cultures and communities...environmental factors…how can we take advantage of the “good” and prevent, avoid or mitigate the “bad”?

  • Powerful, proven new ways of achieving Win-Win-Win relationships – How are corporations, governments, philanthropic organizations and civic groups working together to change the world?

In Addition….

MAX realizes that global business and marketing, like the people we’ll be dealing with, is a rich and diverse topic area.  As such, it’s only fitting to consider international commerce as much more than just “business as usual.”  MAX borrows freely from history, current affairs, mythology and sociology, economics, geo-politics and everything but-the-kitchen sink to deliver crucial lessons learned.  More to the point, presenter Banick knows that people learn in multiple ways, and being a true “Edutainer,” he just can’t help tapping into an array of fables, anecdotes, jokes, stories and other intriguing platforms to help students relate to the wider world of commerce.  For example:

  • What can we learn from Gulliver’s Travels about the dangers of stereotyping, provincialism,  – and how that costs us grief, reputation, and lost business?

  • What do the journeys of Marco Polo have to teach us about international distribution logistical and marketing challenges?

  • How can “outmanned” entrepreneurial upstarts leverage the strategies of the Spartan 300 to establish market share against “superior” competitors?

  • Why areage-old principles such as Archimedes Lever (“Give me a fulcrum and a lever long enough, and I can lift the world”) and the Golden Rule your best friends for creating profitable, fun and sustainable business relationships?

  • How can we apply the Indian fable of The Blind Men and the Elephant to improve our ability to recognize opportunities and threats?

  • How do the events surrounding the tragic death of Princess Diana underscore the interconnectedness of more than a dozen countries?

  • How might a futuristic industry like Space Tourism – which is already “lifting off” – revolutionize the transportation, hospitality, shipping, entertainment and other industries?
